Preface

TL;DR — I’m an iOS software developer who loves Idle Games, and this guide is a way to do min/max victory in Kings Throne without having to shell out $$

Okay, a little preface, since this is the first time I’ve written any kind of strategy guide. I’ve been a long time fan of “Idle” games (back before they were called Idle games on iOS 4+) — This are iOS games that require you to periodically return to the game to tap something, and generally involve strategies that involve a lot of unit conversion. Not exciting normally in the traditional action game sense, but for someone who is kind of obsessive they can really scratch an itch when you’re bored. And COVID has given me a terrible itch. Another aspect of idlers that has become more prevalent since in app purchase is “Pay to Play”, these games have started allowing players to dump a pretty ridiculous amount of money into them, and have begun feeding that desire with Vegas like reward systems. Personally, if I can get a few weeks of solid entertainment out of a game I cap off what I’m willing to spend at about $50, but as an iOS software developer, the methods of engagement used (as well as the crazy profits these games can claim) have me pretty interested, so I often like to see how they strike the balance (allowing free players to compete or not?). I’m writing this as it makes me feel like I was doing something useful for the past few weeks, and I’m curious on whether there is any interest in idler game guides.
